Scribbly Note Taking Application
I’ve been on the look out for a decent note taking application for quite some time now.
When I surf the Internet I am always jotting things down that I can use or reference at a later date.
The trouble is, I’ve tried saving my notes as .txt files but I always end up forgetting about them until come across them again when I’m spring cleaning my cluttered desktop.
The same happens for the many browser note taking apps that are available, I’ve tried them liked them and then promptly forgot about them.
All that changed recently when I started to use Scribbly.

Why Use The Scribbly Note Taking Application?
Scribbly is a note taking application that runs on Adobe Air, making it quick and easy to install and use (it also runs on Windows, Mac and Linux).
You can download Scribbly directly from the Adobe Air Marketplace.

Scribbly sits nicely in your system tray and has a few customisation features for you to play around with.

The feature that really grabbed my attention and easily made this a must have resource is the ability to email your notes with a single click of a mouse button.

Not only that, you can set Scribbly to email your notes to multiple email recipients.
When you’ve downloaded the application and you run it for the first time, you will want to click on the settings icon (1).
This is where you will be able to add the email you want to send your notes to (2).
If you want to email additional recipients you simply separate each email with a comma (3).
Now when I want to remember something, I email it straight to my Gmail account where it is easy for me to find with the addition of labels.
If you want to find out about creating email filters and labels so you can easily find your notes then read this post on LifeHacker.com.
I hope you find the Scribbly application as useful as I do.
To your success,
Karl Foxley

Keith – you should see my realworld desktop! Scribbled notes, magazines with pages ripped out, things to file, post it notes with followups and todo lists…
It’s comical really. Just goes to show that for all my love of logic my non logical side is a disorganized slob!
I’d use scribbly but my Email inbox already has a thousand unread messages (I just deleted 521 messages the other night and it took a good dent out of it)…
Anyway, let me write down the name of this productivity app on my post it note for future reference…

Hey Don,
I get over 2000 emails every single day and I use labels and filters to sort them in a easy to manage way… you can learn some great tips from http://mail.google.com/mail/help/intl/en/tips.html
Thanks for the feedback. I really like it and now my desktop is just that bit tidier without all those saved (and forgotten) files every where.

Karl
Very cool find Karl, I have .txt notes all over my HD. lol

Hmm, I’ve been writing and saving notes on Google Docs for years now, but it’s not very convenient at all times, although saving the notes online is the key benefit. I rarely save .txt-files on my computer anymore (or haven’t done so in a long time)
I haven’t tried this Scribbly, as I’ve trying to get used to Evernote and making that part of my habits… still find myself opening the old idea/notes files on Google Docs every now and then

Keith,
I tend to do the same thing. There are times when I prefer the pen and paper over the computer. I just have to remember to look look through my notes before working on a project.

I am still stuck on pen and paper, old school I guess. I am trying to change that, even though my desk is huge, it gets cluttered with notepads and scrap paper all the time!

Thanks for sharing. I have been looking for a program like this for a while. I need to look into this more. I need something like this for my workstation at work. I spend a lot of time researching blog ideas and finding new blogs to read that I forget about my emails and other ways of saving the information.
