Dear Blog Engage Members, Can We Make History?
So you’ve stopped Digging and started Engaging!
You’ve probably already noticed the instant rewards for submitting your posts to Blog Engage…
- more traffic
- more comments
- more retweets
- and growth in your community
If you haven’t heard of Blog Engage before please take a moment to read this post here that explains all you need to know about the site and the community.
If you are a member, you will probably already know that Brian, the owner of BlogEngage.com, has closed open registration.
What this means is, if you are not already a member, you will have to ask to be approved.
This helps reduce, if not totally prevent, low quality sites and spam posts making their way into BE and clogging up the community.
Well, knowing that we have an active community of real bloggers that love blogging and the opportunity that Blog Engage gives us for sharing and networking, I wanted to ask YOU for your help.
You see, I am not a fan of Digg but…
Even posts with an average number of votes still make it into the 100s.
Below you will see my highest ever voted for article on BE.

You can read the post here: Google PageRank Score.
I know others have higher votes but I don’t believe we have broken the milestone of…
100 Votes on BlogeEngage.com
I believe the community is big enough and active enough to break beyond the 50 votes barrier and make it to 100 votes.
With any milestone, once you achieve it, it becomes easier to reach it again and again.
Along with breaking the milestone comes instant bragging rights of our community!
So how can I sweeten the deal for you?
How can I get you to vote for this article and be a part of Blog Engage history.
Everyone who votes for this article will be linked out to from this post.
Update your Blog Engage profiles to include your name and website and I’ll add the information as the votes come in.
Below are the awesome people that make Blog Engage the blogging community of choice.
The post, Google PageRank Score and this post have both made it to the 50 votes mark. Whether you vote for that post or this post (you can always do both) I will update your info here. Well done everyone so far, we’ve already made history, let’s see if we can hit the 3 digits.

Guess you stopped updating this article at some point ‘eh?
Still haven’t made 100… one day it will happen.
Thanks for the rundown of the site. I’ve been a member but just have come back from your recent marketing blasts and I’m impressed how great the site has become and efficient it is. I realize I am not a web tech site but I hope there is room for humor blogs as well.
I’m sure you’ll find your posts will do well over on BE Walt.
Great idea. Good luck Karl

Another creative idea of yours, Karl!
I also think that this particular experiment will reveal those BlogEngage members, who, actually, vote for submissions and not just submit them..

.-= Brian D. Hawkins´s amazing last blog ..The Five Hour Blog Post =-.
Great to see you here Brian and thanks for taking the time to vote.
Good points here. I joined Blog Engage some time ago, but really haven’t spent much time with the site. Ironically, I have spent a great deal of time with DIGG. I should probably switch my efforts and see what I can do for my fellow bloggers. Thanks.
I wouldn’t abandon Digg completely, the same for Mixx and other networks, just be sure to add Blog Engage into your marketing mix and you’ll be reap greater benefits (always wise to diversify).
I just voted and good luck with it.
I think that one thing that might help is for the voting button to work from the page if you’re logged into your account – without taking you to the BE page to do it.
.-= Anne Moss´s amazing last blog ..Is Someone Stealing Away Your Affiliate Revenue? =-.
Anne Moss, what are you talking about… every blogger should be logged into blog engage. It’s like brushing your teeth in the morning. It’s the first thing we should all do. I hear ya but it’s not going to happen. Not anytime soon anyways.
.-= bbrian017´s amazing last blog ..Blogging back to basics =-.
I understand what you mean Ann, but unfortunately BE doesn’t support this option! Maybe Brian didn’t get what you are saying!
.-= Hesham @ FamousBloggers´s amazing last blog ..Protect Your Content and Reputation =-.
I don’t think pligg-type of sites are really designed that way. Having a feature that enables users to vote without them being taken to the site would also cause the community site to lose potential traffic.
However I’d do love to have some sort of SU type of inline toolbar where members can vote on BE without navigating away from the featured post.
.-= Archon Digital´s amazing last blog ..Why So Serious? =-.
@Hesham Archon Digital is correct as pligg sites do not support this method of voting. There is nothing I can do. How ever a tool bar could be something I can look into.
.-= bbrian017´s amazing last blog ..Blogging back to basics =-.
Thank you Anne, I agree, that would be a great feature but by what I’ve read it doesn’t appear to be possible at this point in time.
This is fantastic! You have my full support.
.-= Ileane´s amazing last blog ..Diigo Extension for Google Chrome Browser =-.
Thank you Ileane, I knew I could count on you.
History in the making! Your idea is a winner and you have my vote.
Blog Engage deserves all the publicity it can get.

Now that would be awesome Anne.
What a fantastic show of community. This is exactly what social networking is all about. Kudos to you for organizing this social ‘party.’
You got my vote, Karl. But, then again, you always have my vote.
.-= Alison Moore Smith´s amazing last blog ..Start a New Blog in 1 Week =-.
That’s awesome Alison and, as you know, always appreciated.
I hope you reach 100 votes! I haven’t put a lot into Blog engage, but maybe it’s time I start.
.-= FreakSmack´s amazing last blog ..Irene Speicher was charged with Soliciting For Prostitution in Pinellas county =-.
Well, you can see by the comments and the votes that it can be very rewarding so be sure to give it a go.
Hi Karl – interesting experiment! Hope it works. I have just voted for your article.
Glen
Awesome Glen, I look forward to discovering your articles over at BE.
I think everything is possible if people work together.
That’s why I hope that my new project at 1click.at will be a little success for myself, too
See you on BlogEngage
Hope your project works out for you Michael and thanks for the vote.
Great idea, Karl! I love seeing bloggers promote and help one another!

Absolutely Erica and thank you for taking the time to vote and comment.
Hey Karl,
Thanks for this post. I had somehow not heard of Blogengage before. Definitely need to check it out. Very cool idea to try and break the 100 votes, I hope you succeed!
Cheers,
Shane
.-= Shane´s amazing last blog ..WP Split Test Review =-.
Blog Engage is a great community of active bloggers Shane so be sure to give it a go… when you are there be sure to add me as a friend.
Hitting 100 votes would be awesome. It’s going to be hard so I will dedicate a post to help you out. Between all the members we have we should actually be able to make your article hit 100 votes.
Let me write a post about it and see where it can get us. You will see the track back soon. Best of luck and thanks for creating such a cool goal.
.-= bbrian017´s amazing last blog ..Blogging back to basics =-.
Awesome Brian, thanks for the support and promotion of the post. So far both posts have generated some great feedback for the BE community.
I wish it was as easy as that. Trouble is that everyone wants to further themselves and not others.
But what they miss is that helping others causes reciprocation. But that’s a patience thing and no one wants to wait.
I’ll help others out even when my patience wears thin.
.-= Phillip Gibb´s amazing last blog ..Violence in Christian Film =-.
The benefits of reciprocation are certainly often overlooked, especially when people are stuck in ‘me’ mode. In saying that, there are some great BE members who far outstrip me with their giving spirit and sharing of other peoples work.
Thanks for commenting Philip.
