Dear Blog Engage Members, Can We Make History?

Dear Blog Engage Members, Can We Make History?

Posted by Karl Foxley in Blog, Blogging, General Blogging

So you’ve stopped Digging and started Engaging!

You’ve probably already noticed the instant rewards for submitting your posts to Blog Engage…

  • more traffic
  • more comments
  • more retweets
  • and growth in your community

If you haven’t heard of Blog Engage before please take a moment to read this post here that explains all you need to know about the site and the community.

If you are a member, you will probably already know that Brian, the owner of BlogEngage.com, has closed open registration.

What this means is, if you are not already a member, you will have to ask to be approved.

This helps reduce, if not totally prevent, low quality sites and spam posts making their way into BE and clogging up the community.

Well, knowing that we have an active community of real bloggers that love blogging and the opportunity that Blog Engage gives us for sharing and networking, I wanted to ask YOU for your help.

You see, I am not a fan of Digg but…

Even posts with an average number of votes still make it into the 100s.

Below you will see my highest ever voted for article on BE.

You can read the post here: Google PageRank Score.

I know others have higher votes but I don’t believe we have broken the milestone of…

100 Votes on BlogeEngage.com

We Need YouI believe the community is big enough and active enough to break beyond the 50 votes barrier and make it to 100 votes.

With any milestone, once you achieve it, it becomes easier to reach it again and again.

Along with breaking the milestone comes instant bragging rights of our community!

So how can I sweeten the deal for you?

How can I get you to vote for this article and be a part of Blog Engage history.

Everyone who votes for this article will be linked out to from this post.

Update your Blog Engage profiles to include your name and website and I’ll add the information as the votes come in.

Below are the awesome people that make Blog Engage the blogging community of choice.

The post, Google PageRank Score and this post have both made it to the 50 votes mark. Whether you vote for that post or this post (you can always do both) I will update your info here. Well done everyone so far, we’ve already made history, let’s see if we can hit the 3 digits.

Thanks for the rundown of the site. I’ve been a member but just have come back from your recent marketing blasts and I’m impressed how great the site has become and efficient it is. I realize I am not a web tech site but I hope there is room for humor blogs as well.

Good points here. I joined Blog Engage some time ago, but really haven’t spent much time with the site. Ironically, I have spent a great deal of time with DIGG. I should probably switch my efforts and see what I can do for my fellow bloggers. Thanks.

    • Karl Foxley | March 10, 2010 at 6:02 am

I wouldn’t abandon Digg completely, the same for Mixx and other networks, just be sure to add Blog Engage into your marketing mix and you’ll be reap greater benefits (always wise to diversify).

I think that one thing that might help is for the voting button to work from the page if you’re logged into your account – without taking you to the BE page to do it.

I don’t think pligg-type of sites are really designed that way. Having a feature that enables users to vote without them being taken to the site would also cause the community site to lose potential traffic.

However I’d do love to have some sort of SU type of inline toolbar where members can vote on BE without navigating away from the featured post.

      • Brian | March 8, 2010 at 8:23 pm

@Hesham Archon Digital is correct as pligg sites do not support this method of voting. There is nothing I can do. How ever a tool bar could be something I can look into.

I wish it was as easy as that. Trouble is that everyone wants to further themselves and not others.
But what they miss is that helping others causes reciprocation. But that’s a patience thing and no one wants to wait.
I’ll help others out even when my patience wears thin.
.-= Phillip Gibb´s amazing last blog ..Violence in Christian Film =-.

    • Karl Foxley | March 8, 2010 at 7:03 am

The benefits of reciprocation are certainly often overlooked, especially when people are stuck in ‘me’ mode. In saying that, there are some great BE members who far outstrip me with their giving spirit and sharing of other peoples work.

      Thanks for commenting Philip.
