Submit Your Website To CSS Galleries
I recently wrote a post that exposed the great benefits of submitting your website to CSS galleries, you can read the post CSS Directory Lists.
As a quick recap, you will want to submit your website on these sites because a good collection of them have:
- strong domains as determined by domain age and inbound links
- a one-way inbound link from sites with good Google PageRank scores
- your site will be featured on high-traffic sites that will send you traffic for months after your site goes live in the gallery
There are a number of ‘negatives’ that you want to take into account before making CSS gallery submission a part of your inbound linking strategy and these are:
- the galleries will probably not be related to your website’s niche and thus reduce the relevancy of the link
- the visitors that come to your site from CSS galleries are those wanting to look at your design and often only hit your homepage for a few seconds before leaving again (affecting your bounce rate)
That being said, in my opinion the benefits far outweigh any negative factors.
Please be aware that the majority of CSS galleries only feature beautifully designed websites (their words not mine). Something for you to bear in mind is that I’ve had success submitting WordPress themes where the design has been modified enough to make it slightly different from the original theme.

Hi Karl & Kelly,
Great to catch up with you again – it’s been too long, but as you’ve probably realised through the new website, well, it’s been an unusual year.
So, many thanks for comment on Famous Bloggers – yes, concrete answers are exactly what’s needed but until then …bettter say than sorry maybe, especially with young kids.
As for this post – do you think that submitting to these sites is a good idea / an efficient way to spend my time ? At the moment I’m spending most of my time visiting sites ( mostly in the health niche) and posting there. So far so good as a strategy … but perhaps (probably) not optimal?!? The idea is, over time, to create a multiplier effect of motivated people … mmm
Of course, you know that your own site would be very (very) welcome at Noaspa 2.0 if you’d like to add to the social networking aspartame awareness campaign at http://noaspa.blogspot.com/p/noaspa-20.html
(I’m relying on you Karl!!)
OK, hope to see you there soon & please let others know about the site ( especially the local hairdresser – I never forget that story of yours)
Very best wishes from Hamburg
Will
P.S. Not so sure about BlogFrog by the way – noaspa had a good start there but it doesn’t feel at all like Brian’s BlogEngage and the amazing spirit/friendship/helpfulness that exists there

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you around here again.
I definitely agree with you Karl, the benefits far out weigh the negatives, these kind of links really support a diverse backlink profile.

How do you know ahead of time if your blog has what it takes to be listed?
Good question Dennis.
I recommend you take a look at the sites that are already listed on the CSS Gallery sites to see what they are looking for.
I hope that helps,
Karl
Yea I’ve looked at a few. Most are a LOT “prettier” then mine. lol
Hi Karl, I’m not a designer but I think it would be a great idea to visit these directories just to have a look at some of the beautiful sites to get ideas and inspiration. Thanks for sharing the links.

Hey Ileane,
Absolutely, after looking at the great sites that get featured for inspiration, you can also find some great sites that are ‘related’ to your niche as part of a link acquisition campaign.
Karl
Hey Karl, this is really a nice list and i appreciate the amount of work you have put into this.
Thanks Suhasini, it’s great to have you here.
Hi Karl,
Thank you very much for the mention and the links. As you can see I recently changed my domain name to get one that is more easily brandable and that I can use as its own URL shortener. In a couple of weeks I will start with the manual CSS gallery submissions, but until then it’s back to the article writing

You’re welcome Tom!
The post you wrote is a great resource for people looking for fresh CSS Galleries instead of finding a stale list that hasn’t been update for over a year.
Manual submission is certainly the best way to go for sure as the sites vary so much on what they accept and what they don’t.
Regards,
Karl
